CIF’s History
What began as an idea among passionate industry leaders became a mission-driven organization dedicated to helping collision repair professionals through life’s most difficult moments. Founded in 2001 by Mark Claypool, Glen Funk, Dan Greenwald, Marco Grossi, Chuck Sulkala and Doug Webb, the Collision Industry Foundation was established to provide emergency relief and meaningful support to individuals and families affected by natural disasters and catastrophic events.
Driven by generosity and industry-wide support, CIF secures and distributes donations to those in need while also supporting charitable projects that strengthen communities and provide meaningful assistance. Early efforts included supporting children’s hospitals, outreach organizations, student development programs and large-scale disaster relief initiatives, including assistance for collision industry victims impacted by Hurricane Katrina.
The Collision Industry Foundation was incorporated in April 2001 and later received its 501(c)(3) nonprofit designation. Today, tax-deductible donations continue to fuel CIF’s mission of delivering timely relief and hope to collision repair professionals nationwide.
